The talks will happen in the conference room of the ‘Jean-Alexandre Dieudonné’ Laboratory (Math. Lab., Building 2 on the map).
The best option is to take tram line 1 from the Gare or from Place Massena, direction Las Planas, and get off at the Valrose Université stop.
To get to the tram stop from train station 'Gare Thiers', simply turn left when leaving the station and walk on foot to the 'NICE-Gare Thiers' tram stop.
Once you get off at the 'Valrose-Université' stop, follow Avenue A. Borriglione, Avenue Doyen-Jean Lepine, Avenue Joseph Vallot and Avenue Valrose. This 10' walking route from the tram stop 'Valrose-Université' to the conference venue is illustrated on google map HERE
Nice airport is connected to all major European cities by daily flights, and even to New York, Canada and numerous destinations in North Africa and the Middle East. There are also many flights per day between Paris and Nice. Here are some useful links:
Most companies use Terminal 1 (the older of the two). Terminal 2 is mainly used by Air France (and its partners) and Easyjet. To get to the city center or to go to the conference site, the best option is to take tram line 2 directly from the airport terminal towards 'Port Lympia' and get off at the 'Jean Médecin' stop and then take line 1 towards 'Las Planas' and then follow the instructions above to reach the conference venue. The tram ticket costs 1.5 Euros and can be purchased at the machines present at each stop.
Alternatively, you can take bus n. 12 (ticket costs 1.5 Euro and can be purchased directly on the bus) but it takes 40 minutes to get to the NICE-Thiers station and then you have to walk 10/15 minutes to reach the tram. Airport buses depart from Terminal 1.
A free shuttle connects Terminal 1 and 2 in both directions.
The train station is located in the city center and offers numerous connections by taxi, bus and tram. Nice - Paris: 5h36 by TGV, Nice - Marseille 2h35 (TGV or TER), Nice - Monaco Monte Carlo 0h18.
The A8 motorway connects Nice with the west (Cannes, Marseille, Aix-en-Provence) and with Italy to the east. The closest exit to the Valrose campus is number 54.
Here are some possibilities for hotels:
As a general rule, any hotel close to the Tramway line 1, or close to the stop "Valrose Université" can be an excellent alternative.
