Dr. Kuansan Wang, a senior researcher from Microsoft Research working in the Microsoft Academic Graph, will visit our team on February 1st. He will present the research and findings of the Microsoft Academic Research division on how the Microsoft graph is created with deep learning methods.

Our team completed the design and development of a bigdata solution for the World Inequality Database (WID) of Paris School of Economics (effort lead by T. Piketty). Check out the online tool here. We proudly introduce the Data Science Winter School organized by Tsinghua, Renmin Universities and the Ecole Polytechnique reflecting their common efforts in the fast growing Data Science area. The School will take place between Jan. 7 – 11 2017, at Tsinghua University, Beijing – building: FIT1 – room: 312. You can find more information here.

Our D-core metric (a graph degeneracy based one indicating the densest graph to which a node belongs) measuring jointly authority AND collaborativeness has been adopted and already implemented in the Aminer (the Chinese counterpart of Google Scholar). See an example here. Click top right where it says D-core (the UI needs some improvements though).

Our tutorial proposal titled “Core Decomposition of Networks: Concepts, Algorithms and Applications” has been accepted by the ICDM 2016 Conference.
