Computing and Processing Correspondences
with Functional Maps
Course at SIGGRAPH 2017


 
Course Overview:
This course will introduce the audience to the techniques for computing and processing correspondences between geometric objects, such as 3D shapes, images or point clouds based on the functional map framework. We will provide the mathematical background, computational methods and various applications of this framework.
Intended audience
This course is intended for researchers in computer graphics, geometry processing and computer vision, who are interested in problems related to correspondences between geometric datasets. It would also target practitioners in these areas, who are interested in applying and testing methods for correspondence finding in their specific setting.
Course Prerequisites
The attendees should have a good understanding of the basics of linear algebra, and should have some experience with manipulating geometric objects such as surfaces represented as triangle meshes. Some background in differential geometry would be useful but is not necessary.
