We are looking for a data scientist to join the Product Performance & Optimization team.

The mission of the team is to find the correct levers within the product to drive the growth of the business. We use machine learning & statistics, playing a central role to develop the data-driven mindset in the company and through our analysis ensure that Deezer is fitting our users’ needs.

Your main responsibility will be to have a better understanding on how our users consumes music on Deezer.

You will work with the Product Features Team to think, build and ship new features to millions of users. The subjects tackled by the team are as broad as enabling users to be one tap away from the perfect tracklist and creating innovative experiences to find what to play and engage more with the content on Deezer.

Responsibilities

As a Product Data Scientist you will work daily on our entire data-processing chain

    Crunch/analyze data via Hadoop Cluster (Pig/Hive/Spark)
    Build compelling data visualizations that can be understood by stakeholders throughout the organization
    Be a part of our data warehouse project in order to make data available to everyone inside the company
    Analyze the data to answer the question of where/when Deezer is/should be used by our users
    Find a needle in the haystack in order to drive growth hackings
    Influence & support the Product teams’ decisions thanks to deep analysis

Requirements

    Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics
    Strong mathematical/machine learning background with ability to understand & product distributed algorithms
    Proficient with several languages with Python, Java, PHP + SQL as a pre-requisite
    Passion for data, numbers and statistics
    Affinity for marketing, product and user experience
    Ability to communicate data analysis results to final users
    Team player, creative and able to set own priorities
