Full Professorship at LIX, Ecole Polytechnique The Computer Science Department (LIX) of Ecole Polytechnique (X) in Palaiseau, France (around 1h commute from Paris), opens a full-time Full Professorship this year. Candidates should post their CVs here: http://de.polytechnique.fr/candidatures/Index.cfm?Type=Professeur The official deadline is 15th February 2008 but there should be some tolerance on the deadline date (possibly a couple of weeks, so end of february). Although the position is open to all fields in computer science, the department has a strong need of expertise in Database Theory. Gross salary for full professors is between 50 and 80 KEUR / year. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of CV, publications, research and teaching statements. Knowledge of French is not a prerequisite, as the Department currently has both English and French as working languages. Eventually, however, it is expected that the recruited candidate should be able to interact in French at least with the students.
