Use the file navigation pane to manage your folders (directories) and files, to choose the current folder — where AMPL will look for model, data, and script (run) files — and to select files to open for editing.This pane is initially at the left when the IDE opens.

Click on the triangles next to folders to see what’s in them.

Double-click a folder to make it current and see what’s in it. When you mention files in commands like model, data, and include, AMPL will look for them in your current folder. One of the Shortcut buttons at the top of the pane takes you to the parent of the current folder and makes that current.

Double-click a file to open it in the File Editing Pane (initially at the right).

Right-click a file to bring up a Menu that lets you select from various operations such as Rename, Delete, and Send to AMPL.
