Antoine Oustry wins the PGMO PhD Award
Antoine Oustry has been announced as one of the winners of the PGMO PhD Awards 2024. This recognition highlights the contributions to the fields of optimization and operations research. The award was officially presented during the PGMODAYS 2024 conference.

Antoine Oustry’s thesis, titled “Global optimization of nonlinear semi-infinite programming problems: Applications in power systems and control”, was completed under the supervision of Claudia D’Ambrosio and Leo Liberti at LIX, École Polytechnique. His research focuses on solving a challenging class of problems known as semi-infinite programming (SIP). These problems are characterized by an infinite number of constraints and the potential non-convexity of both objective functions and constraints, making their global optimization a significant scientific challenge.
About the PGMO PhD Awards
The Gaspard Monge Program for Optimization, Operations Research, and their Interactions with Data Science (PGMO) aims to foster excellence in these fields. The PhD awards are granted to theses defended in France in 2023 that make significant theoretical or practical contributions to optimization and operations research. The program benefits from the participation and scientific patronage of ROADEF (the French Operations Research and Decision Support Society) and SMAI (the French Society of Applied and Industrial Mathematics, MODE group).
Awards Ceremony
The winners of the PGMO PhD Awards presented their work during the PGMODAYS conference on November 19-20, 2024. This event brought together researchers and practitioners to celebrate advancements in optimization and operations research.
