Mini-course (8 hours) on "Electrical and Electromagnetic Issues: Fundamentals, Challenges, and Solutions for a Sustainable Energy Transition"

This mini-course aims to comprehensively address the complex issues related to electrical and electromagnetic phenomena, with a specific focus on challenges associated with electrical energy. Special emphasis will be placed on renewable energy sources, which are crucial for the ongoing energy transition and the pursuit of sustainable solutions. The mini-course will be structured in two main parts to provide a balanced blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application.

The first part of the mini-course will consist of an in-depth lecture on the fundamentals of electrical engineering and electromagnetism. This section will cover key theoretical concepts and principles that are essential for understanding the nature of electrical and electromagnetic problems. Topics will include circuit theory, electromagnetic fields, power systems, and energy conversion. By building a strong theoretical foundation, participants will be better equipped to describe, analyze, and formulate solutions to these complex problems.

The second part of the mini-course will transition to a practical exploration of contemporary issues and potential solutions in the field of electrical energy. This section will provide an overview of the challenges and opportunities presented by renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power. We will discuss current best practices and highlight common pitfalls to avoid. Additionally, the mini-course will explore innovative solutions and optimization strategies for improving energy efficiency and integrating renewable energy into existing power systems.

A portion of this segment will be dedicated to discussing the concept of renewable energy communities. These communities, which generate and share their own renewable energy, represent a promising approach to achieving sustainable energy goals. We will examine how these communities operate, their benefits, and the challenges they face. Participants will gain insights into the practical application of theoretical concepts, learning how to design and implement effective solutions for real-world energy problems.

By the end of the mini-course, participants will have a deeper understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of electrical and electromagnetic issues, particularly in the context of renewable energy. They will be equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to contribute to the development of sustainable energy systems and to address the challenges associated with the energy transition.
