Short Bio

Since 2011 a researcher with ITI-CERTH, in Greece, I am also collaborating with the Networking Group of the University of Thessaly and the Telecom Lab at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I am currently participating in the European project STAMINA and I have been awarded a Marie Curie Career Integration Grant to support my research on informatoin flow in wireless networks.

In 2010, I was a visiting researcher at INRIA, followed by compulsory military service in Greece. Previously, I was a Research Fellow in Algorithms and a member of the Centre for Advanced Computing - Algorithms and Cryptography, at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, for 2.5 years (2007-2010), with my main research focusing in mobile and delay tolerant networks.

I graduated in Electrical and Computer Engineering (1st out of 194 students, with awards from IKY and TEE) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2002. I spent 5 months with ASCOM R&D, Switzerland, in 2001. In 2003, I obtained a DEA (Master's) in Computer Science (algorithms) from Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, France. I worked for 4 years (as PhD and post-doc) with Hipercom team in INRIA and LiX, Ecole Polytechnique (2003-2007). I obtained my PhD in Computer Science from Ecole Polytechnique in December 2006, with a thesis entitled "Analytical Models and Performance Evaluation in Massive Mobile Ad Hoc Networks".

I am fluent in Greek, French and English, since I obtained a French Baccalaureat from CNED in parallel with my studies in the Greek-American College Anatolia. I also have an excellent knowledge of Spanish (Diploma Superior) and a basic knowledge of German.

Main Research Interests

Wireless and Mobile Networks, Future Internet Architectures and Protocols, Network Information Theory, Analysis of Algorithms.
