How to reach LIX and other logistic information

Location

LIX, the Laboratoire d'Informatique de l'Ecole polytechnique, is situated in the Aile 0 of the Campus of l'Ecole polytechnique, in Palaiseau, about 30 min by RER from the centre of Paris.

See the map of the campus. (The location of LIX is indicated by the arrow in red)

In case the main door is closed, please call Catuscia Palamidessi at 4117, or Miguel Andrés at 4071, or Frank Valencia at 4144, or Marie-Jeanne Gaffard at 4032, or someone else of the Comète team at 4119. There is a phone by the door.

How to reach Palaiseau

From Charles de Gaulle airport: Take the RER B to Massy-Palaiseau or Lozere. About 1 hour and 30 min trip.

From Orly airport: Take the train to Antony and then the RER B to Massy-Palaiseau or Lozere. About 30 min trip in total.

How to reach the Campus from Palaiseau

The most convenient way is by bus. You should take the line TransEssonne 91-06, which leaves from Massy-Palaiseau in front of the RER B station. The schedule is here. It's best to exit at the third stop, marked as "2 Les Laboratoires" on this map. Take the path among the parking lots, then turn left and proceed till the end of the building. The door of Aile 0 has a big sign "0" over it.

Otherwise, you can come to the RER B station of Lozere, and then by foot. The walk is not too long, about 10-15 minutes, but it is quite challenging, because it's all uphill. See the map of the walk.

Another possibility is to come by taxi. All the hotels indicated below are within 10-15 minutes by taxi. We recommend that you don't let your taxi driver drop you at the main entrance ("Accueil Principal", Point P5 in the map of the campus), because it's quite far from the lab LIX (10-15 min. walk). Instead, ask him to drive you till the lab LIX (Aile 0). Remember to take with you the map of the campus to show to the taxi driver the way inside the campus, because they usually don't know.
