Spring 2001, CSE 428: About the Final exam
Logistical info
- Section 1 (afternoon) The final will take place on May 4,
at 2:20-4:20pm, in 260 Willard and and 267 Willard.
The class will be split among the two rooms as follows:
Students whose family name begins with a letter included
between "A" and "M" should go to
260 Willard. The others
("N"-"Z") should go to 267 Willard.
- Section 2 (morning) The final will take place on May 2,
at 2:20-4:20pm, in 358 Willard and and 267 Willard.
The class will be split among the two rooms as follows:
Students whose family name begins with a letter included
between "A" and "K" should go to
358 Willard. The others
("L"-"Z") should go to 267 Willard.
- It is a "closed book" exam.
- The exam is comprehensive, and the topics will be represented,
roughly, in the following percentages:
- 30% on the material up to MT 1 (Questions 1, 2 and 3 on the pre-test).
- 30% on the material between MT 1 and MT 2 (Questions 4, 5 and 6
on the pre-test).
- 40% on the material after MT 2 (Questions 7, 8, 9 and 10 on the pre-test).
Format of the exam
The exam will consists of a list of questions.
You should write the answers on the same sheets. There is no
need to justify your answer, unless it is explicitly requested
in the text of the question.
Preparation for the final
A pre-test is posted here.
This test will not be graded, but
you are encouraged to try to solve it by yourself
as a preparation to the final exam.
The final will have the same
kind of questions as the test.
The class of Thursday April 27 will be dedicated to
explaining and discussing the solution of the test.
