ANR Project IsOMa (Ising Model on Maps)

Description

This project is funded by the french Agence Nationale de la Recherche for a duration of 48 months, from January 2022 to December 2026 under the reference ANR-21-CE48-0007.

It gathers young experts in probability theory, combinatorics and theoretical physics. The goal of this project is to study the combinatorial properties of maps (that are graphs embedded on a surface) endowed with an Ising model. The combinatorial study of maps (without an Ising model) has been a very active field of research in the last two decades and is now fairly well-undersood. However, the situation is much different when one considers maps endowed with an Ising model (or more generally with a statistical physics model). We are planning to address this problem from many perspectives: enumerative and bijective combinatorics, asymptotic enumeration and connections with stochastic processes.
