**Abstract**: AI Ethics has become a global topic in policy and academic circles. It is now recognised that AI technologies offer opportunities for fostering human dignity and promoting human flourishing but may be associated with risks also. Hence, the major impact AI will have on society is no longer in question. Current debates turn instead on how far this impact will be positive or negative. This seminar examines the new pertinent questions, which is no more the one of whether AI will have an impact, but by whom, how, where, and when this positive or negative impact will be felt. From a legal perspective, these questions address the way national jurisdictions (should) offer a frame for AI activities, in a global context. So far, AI Ethics seems to converge on a set of principles. But can principles alone guarantee ethical AI? The seminar mainly questions the advantages and limits of an ethical approach to AI, questionning the legal methodologies associated. **Abstract**: AI Ethics has become a global topic in policy and academic circles.
