Most people know a lot of facts that they don't know. For example, everyone knows that the earth goes around the sun, but everyday experience proves the contrary. This book examines this cultural phenomenon. Also, I compare ancient and modern approaches to knowledge, as classical scientists had a much deeper understanding of what they knew. There is a strong emphasis on the works of Archimedes, as he was one of the greatest scientists of the classical period.
